Pillerkaar performed at Octoberfest Festival in Virginia

Despite rain and cooler weather, Pillerkaar, Estonian Folk Dancers of the Washington DC Metro Area, performed in Fairfax, Virginia at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church Reformation 500 Oktoberfest on Sunday, October 29, 2017. The dancers kicked off the afternoon by dressing in Halloween costumes and participating in the trunk-and-treat, passing out candy to swarms of children. The party then moved to the large outdoor festival tent, where Pillerkaar demonstrated polkas and waltzes with an array of Estonian folk dances for a few hundred revelers who sat at tables eating bratwurst and sauerkraut and watching the fun. The oompah band, headed by one of the church's pastors, even played the music for "Neljapuari," which Pillerkaar taught to the audience at the end of the performance.
