Please join Dr. Karen Gustafson and Susan Barber Kahro for an entertaining presentation of Estonian trumpet music on Tuesday, June 4th at 7pm in the Choir Room, West Hall of Burman University, 6730 University Drive, Lacombe, Alberta.

Their lecture/recital entitled “Trumpet Archeology and Digging for Treasure: Estonian Trumpet Literature,” will focus on the various musical influences and contributions of Estonian composers Eino Tamberg, Harri Otsa, Réne Eespere and Veljo Tormis to the trumpet repertoire. The discussion will also celebrate the ongoing work of Aavo Ots who for the past 30 years has been an Associate Professor at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Ots was awarded with the Estonian Class V Order of the White Star in 2014 for his extraordinary work in trumpet pedagogy and fostering of Estonian brass music.
